Yard Lead - Shipping

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for maintaining management and organization of the yard for completed pole sections

Seamer Lead

Responsibilities:
  • Take attendance and report the attendance to your supervisor
  • Lead the morning safety meeting with the One Minute Safety Talk and any other safety issues that you may have
  • Follow up closely on all positions to insure all Start Up Processes in the department are being completed in a timely manner
  • Collect and review all Crane Inspection Sheets to insure there are no crane issues before turning them in
  • Asses the available workload at all seamers and make the proper yard request where needed per daily schedule
  • Insure all seamer lines are operating efficiently throughout the shift. This often requires filling in vacant positions or helping out in areas that are behind
  • Follow up closely on all positions to insure all Shut Down Processes are being completed properly
  • Be sure to lock up all of the digital levels, digital angel finders and radio

Paint / Blast / Laborer

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Sets, operates and maintains shot blast and liquid coating equipment.
  • Maintains complete records of all liquid paints and solvents used during each 4-hour period. Assures that painting volume is limited to appropriate levels to assure compliance with regulations and policies regarding emissions.
  • Maintains compliance with regulations and policies regarding the safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes.
  • Properly handles, stores, and uses painting materials in compliance with applicable fire regulations and policies.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly operator preventative maintenance on designated equipment.
  • Determines what products are needed, locates and identifies products to be brought in for painting.
  • Safely operates forklift, cart pusher and overhead crane to move product.
  • Operates and maintains conveyors and elevator for recycling steel grit, and air filtration system for purifying air to be exhausted from the blasting chamber.
  • Monitors level of blasting media in the storage hopper and adds material when needed.
  • Manually wraps finished product after paint has dried.
  • Uses digital film thickness gauge to measure film thickness to assure product has adequate paint thickness and coverage according to Sabre Industries, Inc. specifications. Log thickness readings on log sheet.
  • Uses MES station to accurately record time and labor on all product throughout the entire coating process.
  • Uses proper measures to assure long and productive life of all equipment and facilities. Includes immaculate housekeeping at all times.
  • Maintains high level of alertness regarding safety and housekeeping. When movement of products exposes unkept areas, takes immediate action to clean up dunage and debris.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or hands-on environment preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of basic shop mathematics, addition, subtraction, fractions and decimals.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be able to, or learn how, to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Must be able to stand 100% of scheduled shift. Lifting, pushing, prying, and dragging heavy materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, crawl under or over, grasp and handle tools.
  • Abnormal amount of heat due to the heating process.
  • Abnormal level of noise, requires hearing protection (ear plugs) be worn at all times.
  • Must be willing and able to wear a forced-air hood in the paint/blast booths.
  • Must possess adequate dexterity and stamina to sustain expected production effectively.
  • Must be able to pass Sabre forklift certification including vision requirements. Distant Vision: must be 20/40 or greater corrected or uncorrected in each eye. Near Vision: must be J2 or better corrected or uncorrected, 12 inches from face in each eye. Color Vision: must be able to distinguish red & yellow correctly. Depth Perception: must be at less than 50 seconds of arc or greater than 60% Shepard Fry in each eye.

Lead, Industrial Maintenance

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Assigns work to meet daily priorities.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and facilities.
  • Performs diagnosis, testing, disassembly, inspecting, repair and re-assembly of plant equipment or components such as hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic shear, vacuum equipment, roller leveler, cranes, etc.
  • Performs skilled trouble shooting and servicing of pneumatic and hydraulic components.
  • Performs proper replacement and/or adjustment of mechanical clutches, drive trains, etc.
  • Repairs worn parts, straightens and fabricates fixtures (welding, cutting, brazing, and surface hardening applications).
  • Performs housekeeping and other routine tasks.
  • Assists maintenance personnel and operators in proper direction of equipment repairs. Provides cross training opportunities to ensure appropriate skill base
  • Records labor and material used on each repair made.
  • Operates lift equipment (cranes, booms, manlifts, cherry picker, etc.) in safe manner.
  • Assists supervisor to optimize use of personnel, materials and equipment to achieve production requirements within the financial plan, reduce scrap & down time and meet goals.
  • Creates a team environment based on mutual dignity and respect.
  • Helps ensure machinery, tools and equipment are in good working order, assists in solving quality problems, performs data collection, monitors process and product control as identified.

Requirements:
  • Three years Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with major and general repairs on a variety of equipment.
  • Leadership experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Able to analyze and evaluate construction documents including drawings, specifications and contracts.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and other industry computer applications.
  • Must have knowledge of basic shop mathematics, addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication and decimals. Convert inch to metric.
  • Able to read and comprehend basic hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural schematics.
  • Able to use gauging equipment from .001" up, dial indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges, etc.
  • Diligent at all times to work safely, and to follow safe working practices, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and other safety procedures.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to multi-task and ability to lead and motivate employees
  • Must have strong English communications skills (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Must learn how to effectively use the Epicor/Vantage computer system to report data, check job schedules, inventory levels, routings, bill of materials, as well as, train new and existing employees
  • Occasionally will be called during irregular hours to handle production coverage with little or no supervision.

QC Visual Weld Inspector / NDT VT

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Conducts in process and final visual weld and dimensional inspections in accordance with AWS D1.1
  • Verifies and maintains inspection and test status of product during all stages of manufacturing.
  • Verifies rework and repair of nonconforming products.
  • Initiates requests for corrective action on observed conditions which do not conform to quality system requirements.
  • Prepares, reviews and maintains Quality records appropriate to inspection and test activities to assure legibility, completeness, and correctness of the information.
  • Visually inspects manufactured parts to ensure they are manufactured per the drawings/specifications.

  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and quality manuals, blueprints, and design drawings.

Sr Drafter

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • ?Responsible for preparing complete and accurate AutoCAD fabrication drawings of steel transmission and utility structures as designed by STS engineering personnel.
    ?Uses STS Engineering information, manufacturing parameters and customer’s technical specifications to create drawings.
    ?Adheres to and has sound knowledge of all STS Drafting Dept standards, policies and processes.
    ?Responsible for creating part numbers for standard and custom parts.
    ?Responsible for updating and revising all drawings when changes are made to engineered designs.
    ?Responsible for documenting all notes, engineering changes, customer requests, etc.
    ?Responsible for completing jobs on time based on the STS Drafting schedule.

Material Handler, Warehouse

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Moves and stacks materials using a forklift when needed.
  • Performs receiving and pre-ship functions of all types of material. This would include duties such as verifying that part numbers and quantities match the bundling sheets or inbound BOLs.
  • Operates material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensures quality of shipped items by verifying and identifying information and quality/condition of items as well as taking steps necessary to protect items from damage while they are being loaded and transported to vendors and customers.
  • Ensures the material being received and shipped conforms to Sabre's or customer's requirements.

                          Responsibilities:
                          • Maintain all equipment as required by the equipment supplier and Sabre operating guidelines
                          • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment
                          • Fabricate necessary jigs, stands, racks, and specialized equipment, etc. as required
                          • Work with and/or supervise specialized contract labor as required
