Welder Lead STP Days

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and delegates daily tasks to assigned production employees.
  • Efficiently uses the company's computer system to collect labor hours and track process information on each job.
  • Supervises employee duties to ensure Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals are met.
  • Trains production employees as needed.
  • Ensures all daily production cards are filled out properly with the correct cost centers, part numbers, job number, and time worked on parts on MES.
  • Ensures housekeeping is maintained in bay areas.
  • Uses Microsoft Outlook (email) to communicate within and outside of the department.
  • Checks the fit up of each assembly within their area of responsibility.
  • Operates various material handling equipment, to include but not limited to, overhead cranes, forklift, and pallet jacks.
  • Ensures machinery, tools and equipment are in good working order.
  • Assists employees in reading blue prints and interpreting weld symbols.
  • Solves production problems as they arise.
  • Ensures all company policies and procedures are being followed. Also "participate in developing" new policies and procedures as a process of continuous improvement at the direction of management.
  • Provides cross training opportunities to capable/qualified individuals.

Requirements:
  • 3 to 5 years progressive experience in a manufacturing operation.
  • Experience with OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing of steel or metal fabricated structures.
  • Must learn how to effectively use the Epicor/Vantage computer system to report data, check job schedules, inventory levels, routings, bill of materials, as well as, train new and existing employees
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate construction documents including drawings, specifications and contracts.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and other industry computer applications including a strong understanding of ERP systems and their operations.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
  • Effective English communications for verbal and written communications. Must also be able to read and comprehend documents written in English.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of equipment & tools used in steel manufacturing.

Welder - STP Days

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Manually positions pole assembly in pole rollers into proper position for welding.
  • Reads and interprets drawings (including weld symbols) and specifications to determine proper location of attachments, as well as weld size and configuration.
  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses tables to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
  • Adjusts welding machines to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Frequently pushes pulls and lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Uses oxy-fuel torch to pre-heat parts to be welded in accordance with published welding codes and specifications
  • Uses GMAC or FCAW welding process to weld small components or assemblies in 1G and 2F positions
  • Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, leather sleeves and/or cape and welding hood
  • Works in confined areas at various locations on the small pole assembly line as necessary to weld components described above
  • Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinders, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded areas.
  • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill carious size holes on pole assembly as required by drawings and specifications
  • Visually inspects his/her work to identify material discrepancies and to ensure that welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications.
  • Uses overhead cranes to transport and move material. Overhead crane training will be required.
  • Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size, standard and metric
  • Reads and interprets work orders and daily production schedules.
  • Corrects labor reporting in MES system to ensure operations are complete.
  • Assists fitter in assembling pole assembly when needed. Uses measuring tape, level, square and angle finder to measure distances and angles
  • Uses oxy-fuel cutting torch and plasma-arc torch for cutting steel.
  • Operates assembly line cart system to move tubular shafts into position for cutting on band saw and for fitting. Operates band saw for cutting tubular shafts according to specifications.
  • Maintains a clean work area.

Requirements:
  • Mig welding experience preferred
  • Must have a basic math aptitude.
  • Must be able to determine amperage and voltage settings.
  • Must be able to determine weld size and amount of penetration.
  • Must be able to determine bend radius on arms.
  • Able to accurately use measuring instruments such as tape measure, heat stick-method (material temp.), weld bead gauge and metric gauge
  • Must be able to understand and communicate verbally in English language.
  • Must possess adequate dexterity and stamina to sustain expected production effectively.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the safety issues related to each operation performed within the department.
  • Must be able to stand 100% of scheduled shift. Must be able to use foot pedal to operate equipment.
  • Lifting, pushing, prying, and dragging heavy materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, crawling under or over and occasional climbing.

Warehouse Equipment Operator B

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures quality of all shipping items by verifying and identifying information and quality/condition of items as well as taking steps necessary to protect items from damage while being loaded on trucks and in shipping containers.
  • Loads and unloads material in a safe and organized manner at all times.
  • Pulls and prepares materials for shipments as needed.
  • Uses small hand tools such as pneumatic staple/nail gun, banding equipment, stencil machine, digital camera and radial arm saw as needed.
  • Uses overhead crane as needed.
  • Maintains a complete knowledge of all yard bin locations.
  • Reviews and understands Shipping Schedules, Pick Queues and Bill of Materials.

  • Candidates must contribute to safety and quality control standards.
  • Must be able to effectively use small hand tools such as pneumatic staple/nail gun, banding equipment, stencil machine, digital camera, and radial arm saw.
  • Demonstrate accuracy of work, good organization skills as well as the ability to work as a team player.
  • Effectively communicate in English with warehouse personnel, management, and supervisors via two-way radio, email and in person.
  • Ability to read and interpret Shipping Authorizations and Daily Ship Schedules.
  • Must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.
  • Must maintain a Level B Equipment Operator Certification. Distant Vision: must be 20/40 or greater corrected or uncorrected in each eye. Machine Operator STP Days

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Determines the sequence of operation by reading the shop drawings, specifications (if supplied) and all work orders.
  • Cuts, lays out, punches, bends, drills or stamps materials as detailed on the shop drawings with minimal operator defects.
  • Changes or replaces tooling and/or consumables on the machines as needed.
  • Uses proper setting technique of the machines to avoid damage to the machines.
  • Accurately reads and understand a tape measure to 1/16 inch.
  • Follows assigned work instructions to prepare items to be processed.
  • Logs in & out of the Epicor computer system to report run time and quantities.
  • Loads programs related to nesting summaries into the machines.
  • Performs simple maintenance diagnosis of machines.
  • Uses overhead cranes & gantries as well as forklifts & combi lifts to move materials.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1+ years recent experience in a welding environment.
  • Must possess the ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in the English language and contribute to the success of the team.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to read blue prints, tape measure and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
  • Must have the ability to pass Sabre's Machine Operator C certification, and certify to use overhead cranes and gantries.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required per the Company's safety policies and programs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently exerting 30 pounds of force.

Warehouse Auditor

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Audits all materials to be processed for orders.
  • Verifies correct part numbers and quantity of material matches the pick tickets.
  • Ensures there are no defects in the craftsmanship of the material.
  • Ensures the material conforms to customer requirements for packaging and labeling.
  • Photographs all packaged and staged materials prior to shipments.
  • Interacts with Customer Pick Up (CPU) and LTL drivers ensuring the proper product is loaded and paperwork completed with proper documentation and signatures.

Material Handler- Warehouse Nights

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Assists machine operators, welders, and other personnel in loading/unloading, transporting raw, in-process, and finished materials throughout the facility.
  • Identifies raw material needed to supply to production.
  • Uses heavy equipment such as overhead cranes to move various sizes of steel material such as plates and poles throughout the facility.
  • Stages all stock and manufactured steel plate, black or galvanized steel pipe to production.
  • Moves in-process and finished poles to appropriate areas.
  • Performs routine safety inspections prior to operating equipment.
  • Abides by all Safety Standards and Policies including use of all personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Prior experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes or other heavy equipment in a manufacturing environment desired.

Machine Operator (Angles) Nights

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Operates CNC machine to produce component parts with minimal defects.
  • Performs daily required maintenance of machine and required trouble shooting skills.
  • Uses common shop mathematics to compute required dimensions.
  • Reads tape measure and other necessary measuring devices.
  • Reads blueprints to lay out work within tolerances to ensure accuracy and to meet required specifications and department quality standards.
  • Adjusts settings on the machine to ensure proper positions meet tolerances.
  • Uses overhead bridge cranes or gantries when required to load and unload machine.
  • Reads and understands labor reporting system, and uses same to report work accomplished.
  • Coordinates material list with material handling team.
  • Coordinates material loading, sizing and process direction of angle.
  • Prepares items for fabrication by lying out and marking holes, cut lines, and other markings.
  • Quality control checks of punches according to standards and format.
  • Contributes to a safe working environment by being responsible for quality, safety, organization, and cleanliness in your area of operation. Uses all necessary safety equipment and procedures, to prevent injury to himself/herself or other personnel.
  • Contributes to team effort by communicating and working well with others, as well as accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:
  • 1-2 years recent fabrication experience.
  • Experience operating various hand tools and equipment such as hand grinders, drill presses, iron workers and other fabrication equipment desired.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English with all levels in a team environment.

  • Manually positions pole assembly in pole rollers into proper position for welding.

    • Conduct pre-employment evaluations of potential new hires.

      Responsibilities:
      • The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing engineering to meet company objectives. The Manager will lead and supervise the staff in Product Engineering, Sales Engineering, CAD System Design, Project Management, Process Engineering, and Technical Sales Support and oversee an overall staff of approximately 40 that includes managers, engineers, technicians, designers, and developers.
      • Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports.
