Order Entry Clerk

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
The position will be based at our FWT location in Kennedale, TX.
  • Data entry input into an ERP business operations system for all awarded projects/jobs while adhering to EUP’s (End User Processes)
  • Review all awarded projects with Order Entry Supervisor to help determine the most efficient manner in which to process all sales orders
  • Enter all awarded projects in to Epicor/Vantage ERP business operations system while utilizing speed, efficiency and accuracy
  • Assist business in providing Vantage reports and various schedules (i.e. backlog reports, major project activity, and daily job report)
  • Create reports and schedules using Microsoft Excel (without the assistance of ERP system)
  • Assist Contract Administration with completing various administrative reports (i.e. RFC’s, Incident Reports, Shipping Authorizations, and Invoicing)
  • Assist Order Entry Supervisor with developing and refining Order Entry EUP’s for Vantage
  • Communicates directly with internal department personnel, i.e., Sales, Purchasing, and Engineering
  • Provides project support by assisting the Contract Administration department with new job set up, scheduling, creating work orders, project folders, and updating master schedule changes for sales orders
  • Additional responsibilities include assistance with various Contract Administrative reports


Requirements:

Cycle Counter

Responsibilities:

Quality Control Visual Inspector

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Inspecting tacked, welded, painted and manufactured parts and components for quality per the company’s quality control processes and procedures
  • Develops an understanding of the Company’s quality control program, standards, procedures, and codes
  • Conducts in process and final visual weld and dimensional inspections of manufactured steel products in accordance with AWS D1.1
  • Verifies and maintains inspection and test status of product during all stages of manufacturing, including receiving, in-process, final, and shipping
  • Verifies rework and repair of nonconforming products
  • Initiates requests for corrective action on observed conditions which do not conform to quality system requirements
  • Prepares and reviews Quality records appropriate to inspection and test activities to assure legibility, completeness, and correctness of the information
  • Uses various dimensioning tools such as tape measures, combination squares, levels, etc. when conducting dimensional inspections
  • Visually inspects all manufactured parts (or a representative number) to ensure they are manufactured per the drawings/specifications

Welder/Fitter

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Uses the Flux Cored Arc Welding process to tack weld various small components to round or formed shafts to make a pole assembly for the welder to weld
  • The pole assembly generally consists of a round tube or formed shaft, baseplate, hand hole, arm mounting simplex, tenon top, vangs, step lugs, ladder clips, and/or other small parts
  • Read and interpret drawings to determine parts needed to assemble pole assembly
  • Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts up to 50 lbs
  • Read and interpret drawings to assure proper location of various small part attachments
  • Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications
  • Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
  • Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel
  • Uses jigs made at Sabre/Texas for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts
  • Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts
  • Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing
  • Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face
  • Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures by changing tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve
  • Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinder, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded area
  • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing
  • Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, and grinding debris
  • Performs visual inspecting and identifies material discrepancies to assure welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications
  • Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size

Requirements:
  • Must have 4 or more years in welding using flux core or metal core, experience in fit up work following blueprint specs and in the utility pole industry or 1 inch plate
  • Must have knowledge of basic shop mathematics, addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication and decimals
  • Proficiency in reading complex prints and specifications
  • Know how to properly use a weld gauge
  • Must be able to stand 100% of scheduled shift (lifting, pushing, prying, and dragging heavy materials)
  • Must be capable of bending, stooping, crawling under or over and occasional climbing

Racking Lead

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for properly racking material in a safe manner to begin the galvanizing process
  • Maximize weight on racks
  • Maintain a very safe and organized work area
  • Follow priority list that is assigned each shift by the Supervisor and communicate any concerns or issues immediately
  • Inform next lead of area status and pull proper line out of previous shift
  • Follow all procedures including safety procedures, QC procedures and environmental procedures
  • Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use (forklifts, cranes, monorails, chains, slings, etc)
  • Inspect all incoming material to determine condition, proper identification, piece count, safe handling, and suitability for galvanizing. Once received, record materials with proper identification on correct forms and turn in at the end of the shift
  • Communicate status of incoming material to the necessary personnel such as the Supervisor and/or the Pretreatment Operator and Kettle Lead
  • Assist in the repair, replacement, modification, installation, improvement of equipment, and perform routine and preventative maintenance on all area equipment
  • Direct and train employees on all safety rules and regulations including proper operation of all lifting equipment and rigging
  • Familiarize themselves with the galvanizing process in order to make recommendations on process improvements.

  • Forklift/Crane Certification required

Electrical Maintenance

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Performs diagnosis, testing, disassembly, inspecting, repair and re-assembly of plant equipment or components such as hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic shear, vacuum equipment, roller leveler, cranes, electrical boards and components, etc.
  • Performs skilled trouble shooting and servicing of pneumatic and hydraulic components
  • Performs proper replacement and/or adjustment of mechanical clutches, drive trains, etc.
  • Repairs worn parts, straightens and fabricates fixtures (welding, cutting, brazing, and surface hardening applications)
  • Troubleshoot 24/12VDC circuits (control power on all equipment in the plant) through 480V 60 amp circuits. Read electrical schematics and diagnose location of issues. Troubleshoot coils and solenoids on Hydraulic Press
  • Installation and movement of equipment - adding welders or moving equipment
  • Work with manufactures to troubleshoot and diagnose controls issues over the phone
  • Installation and troubleshooting of electrical motors. Rewiring of the starters and contactors in the overhead cranes and Magnet systems
  • Assemble, install, test, repair and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and building fixtures
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring and equipment using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and megger meters to ensure compatibility and safety of systems
  • Knowledge and some troubleshooting of VFD’s
  • Assists junior personnel and operators in proper direction of equipment repairs
  • Performs major and general repairs on all equipment
  • Records labor and material used on each repair made
  • Takes proper care and use of test equipment
  • Properly uses lift equipment (cranes, booms, manlifts, cherry picker, etc.)
  • Exercises communication skills pertaining to the job
  • Occasionally will be called during irregular hours to handle production coverage with little or no supervision
  • Employee will use overhead cranes to transport and move material. Overhead crane training will be required
  • Reports all abnormal conditions and safety hazards to supervisor
  • Performs housekeeping and other routine tasks as directed
  • Works safely, and to follow safe working practices, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and other safety procedures

Requirements:
  • Three years of electrical and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Licensed electrician is desired
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and other industry computer applications
  • Must learn how to effectively use the Epicore/Vantage computer system to report data, check job schedules, inventory levels, routings, bill of materials, as well as train new and existing employees
  • Must have knowledge of basic shop mathematics, addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication and decimals
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural schematics
  • Ability to convert inch to metric
  • Ability to use gauging equipment from .001” up, dial indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges, etc.
  • Climbing (heights to 40’), lifting, bending, kneeling, crawling, stretching, and working in confined areas and awkward positions
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English

Production Control Manager

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Supervises staff of production schedulers who plan and establish production schedules, monitor materials inventories, track progress of production, and review factors which affect production schedules
  • Manage purchase orders, contract review, and customer interaction
  • Maintain 100% on time delivery and effective EDI utilization
  • Monitors monthly financial/job costing and helps initiate cost improvements
  • Create and present schedules in daily meetings and timely distribution to appropriate personnel
  • Will work with Operations Manager to create a schedule which results in efficient machine utilization in concert with production run schedule
  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, plan department operations
  • Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
  • Prepares purchase releases to obtain production materials
  • Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials
  • Maintains inventory of materials and parts needed to complete production

Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an ERP/MRP Scheduler preferred
  • Ability to do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication & division, with both fractions and decimals)

QC-UT Level II Inspector

Responsibilities:
  • Perform all inspection functions to the requirements of ASNT SNT TC-1A for a UT Level II AWS Weld Inspector
  • Perform Visual and Ultrasonic Weld Inspections to the requirements of AWS D1.1
  • Cross train in other areas of Quality Control department and fill in when need arises
  • Ensure that all documentation is accurately and neatly completed
  • Keep pass down log accurate
  • Comply with Sabre Tubular Structures safety standards at all times
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with personnel of Quality department and all departments at Sabre
  • Participate in the training process of UT Level I Inspectors
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • One year in Quality Control or related field; welding background a plus.

Kettle Operator

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use (forklifts, cranes, monorails, chains, slings, etc)
  • Operation of overhead cranes and monorails
  • Inspect all material before galvanizing to insure material meets all Sabre Safety guidelines and procedures
  • Monitoring proper kettle settings
  • Add zinc and other alloys to the kettle as necessary in order to maintain proper levels and proper quality of product
  • Sweep ash from the kettle on a continual basis and store ash in barrels for later use
  • Dross kettle (remove sludge) on a predetermined schedule according to Sabre guidelines
  • Inform Kettle Lead of any quality concerns and/or maintenance problems
  • Ensure all galvanized products meet Sabre quality requirements, minimize downtime and promote efficiency and uptime
  • Communicate all safety concerns or accidents to the Plant Supervisor immediately

Requirements:
  • Prior galvanizing experience is desired but not a requirement
  • Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures
  • Must be able to obtain STS forklift/crane certification
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs
  • Must be physically able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Must be capable of boarding and unboarding trucks for inspection and/or rigging

I-Beam Material Handler

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Punch holes in all products that enter the Beam Building
  • Runs, maneuvers, navigates or drives heavy equipment or mechanized equipment in shipping/receiving area, such as forklifts, cranes/overhead cranes, trucks, etc.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Observe and receive information from all relevant sources

Requirements:
  • Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment under immediate supervision, for long shift periods, including some weekends
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your body such as: climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
  • Must possess manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual

CNC Programmer

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Use Auto-Cad to interpret a print of a part to be burned, drilled, and/or punched for the purpose of supplying the CNC machines with needed information to produce the part
  • Communicates with Engineering, Production and Material Management to keep up-to-date of changes in part dimensions, production scheduling of parts, and manufacturing needs to complete order
  • Prepares material requirements for Purchasing Department and processes order for manufacturing
  • Utilizes excess inventory in the most efficient way to substitute and/or modify existing assemblies or parts to fill in existing orders
  • Responsible for updating program files in manufacturing CNC machines
  • Prepares anchor bolt setting templates
  • Able to utilize and manipulate 2D drawings in Autocad and 3-D models in Inventor
  • Able to nest from a 3-D assembly model
  • Able to create dxf drawing in inventor for outsourcing of components

Requirements:
  • Two years experience in Industrial Engineering or manufacturing of any steel products. Monopoles/structural experience preferred
  • Sigmanest experience preferred
  • Ability to do basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, trigonometry, division and algebra, with both fractions and decimals
  • Have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Installs new or upgrades PC, printer, and accessory equipment for individual users

  • Manually positions pole assembly into pole rollers for welding.
  • Reads and interprets drawings and specifications to determine proper location of attachments, as well as weld size and configuration.
  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals.
  • Uses oxy-fuel torch to pre-heat parts to be welded in accordance with published welding codes and specifications
  • Uses GMAC or FCAW welding process to weld small components or assemblies.
  • Works in confined areas at various locations on the small pole assembly line as necessary to weld components.
  • Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinders, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded areas.
  • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill carious size holes on pole assembly as required by drawings and specifications.
  • Visually inspects work to identify material discrepancies and to ensure that welds have been completed in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications.
  • Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size.
  • Reads and interprets work orders and daily production schedules.
  • Assists fitters in assembly as needed.
  • Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finder to measure distances and angles.
  • Uses oxy-fuel cutting torch and plasma-arc torch to cut steel.
  • Operates assembly line conveyor system to move tubular shafts into position for cutting on band saw and for fitting.
