Responsibilities:
  • Prepares complete and accurate AutoCAD fabrication drawings of steel transmission and utility structures as designed by STS engineering personnel
  • Uses STS Engineering information, manufacturing parameters and customer's technical specifications to create drawings
  • Adheres to and has sound knowledge of all STS Drafting Department standards, policies and processes

Inventory Control Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Manages, coaches, and develops the receiving and inventory control teams.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and possesses working knowledge of equipment needs of the department including, but not limited to, forklifts, trailers, inventory yard materials, and office supplies to maximize operational efficiency, minimize downtime and maintain safety.
  • Oversees the execution and reporting of the department's operational duties including, but not limited to, receiving in-bound shipments, other structural items, and small parts/kits.
  • Manages the execution and reporting of the department's transaction processing duties within the ERP system including, but not limited to: receiving, other structural items and small parts/kits; issuing material to jobs; completion of jobs; quantity adjustments; review of negative inventory; plate move reports (bin locations); and identification of excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Plans, executes and reports all cycle counting procedures and corresponding reconciliation to the ERP system.
  • Accountable for planning, executing and reporting of the annual physical inventory and corresponding reconciliation to the sub-ledger and general ledger.
  • Interacts with divisional and executive management to identify inventory control process changes and develops action plans to capitalize on opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintains a high degree of integrity with regards to professional behavior and safety, organization, and cleanliness in inventory areas of operation.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in inventory control or supply chain management

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for visual dimensional inspection of poles, shafts, and gets them ready for shipment
  • Uses various dimensioning tools (i.e. 25/50 foot tape measure, 6” rules, combination squares, levels, etc) to ensure proper coatings have been applied when required
  • Inspects parts to blue prints/design drawings
  • Performs Visual Weld Inspections to the requirements of AWS D1.1
  • Cross train in other areas of Quality Control Department and fill in when need arises

Department Assistant, Quality Control

Responsibilities:
  • Assists in development and execution of department procedures

Inventory Control Lead

Responsibilities:
  • Prioritizes and organizes Inventory Control team’s schedule to best meet the business needs.
  • Works hand-on while leading the Inventory Control team to efficiently and safely accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Coordinates material issues with production to support smooth operations.
  • Verifies work schedules, overtime schedules and informs employees of any scheduling changes.
  • Assists the Inventory Control Manager in coaching employees where necessary to improve their performance up to acceptable levels.

Accounting Specialist

Responsibilities:
  • Process accounts receivable invoices.
  • Prepare various month-end reports.
  • Work on daily credit hold report and release orders from hold.

Inventory Control Specialist

Responsibilities:
  • Reconciles the cycle counts of all parts and materials.
  • Maintaining bin accuracy and precise counts for both inside and outside bins.
  • Tracking and recording heat numbers for all jobs and production orders.
  • Inputs correct counts of material and parts into Epicor.
  • Verifies all material and parts are returned including counts, part numbers, and check for damage.

Equipment Operator A

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Load/unload large pole sections on inbound and outbound trucks.
  • Assure forks do not damage pole sections while handling
  • Identify material by job number, structure number and any other applicable indicators.
  • Record movements of material in and around the facility
  • Pull and prepare product for shipment.
  • Perform daily equipment checks per Sabre and OSHA’s guidelines.
  • Contributes to a safe working environment by being responsible for quality, safety, organization and cleanliness in your area of operation (5s Audit Program)

Requirements:
  • Ability to determine the best ways to stage and load product for shipping that will assure the product is not damaged while loading or in transit to the customer.
  • Operators must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions for up to 12 hours
  • Complete knowledge of forklift operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Must be able to judge distance as well as having good eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Must review Taylor Forklift’s safety and operational training material and successfully pass test.
  • Capable of maneuvering in confined spaces with and without a load as well as stacking and unloading items at different heights.
  • Must be able to safely handle poles sections that are up to 70’ in length and up to 35,000 pounds

Responsibilities:
  • Maintains safe and well organized work area

Senior Financial Analyst

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with monthly close process and creation of division and consolidated financial dashboards and presentations
  • Prepare monthly MD&A and financial analysis as required
  • Assist with updating management and lender presentations
  • Assist with coordination of annual budget development
  • Track compliance to created budgets and investigate any variances from them
  • Conduct analysis of existing budgets to determine possible need for changes based on business needs

Responsibilities:
The Fabricator works under the direction of Tower Shop Supervisor, and performs machine set-up for multiple machines (Quick Drill, Press Brake, Plasma, Cut/Punch Machine, etc). Duties include, but are not limited to, operating overhead crane, machine PM’s, verifying parts to prints, verifying the material used for parts to print, and positioning plates on the press for forming.

Requirements:
  • Uses common shop mathematics to compute the necessary angles and dimensions required.
  • Read tape measure, angle finder, and other necessary measuring devices.
  • Read blueprints and flat sheets to lay out work within tolerances to assure accuracy and to meet required specifications and department quality standards.

  • Coordinates incoming and outgoing parts.

Sub Arc Welder

Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Tower Shop Supervisor and his appointed Lead, the Long Seam Welder uses specified welding processes and procedures to achieve 100% penetration welds for specified lengths of each shafts seam within prescribed codes, and according to prescribed procedures, specifications, and drawings.
  • Performs visual inspection of the entire length of each seam to identify areas requiring repair.
  • Reads and interprets drawings and/or computer print out “flatsheets” to determine requirement for 100% penetration welds.
  • Grinds and/or air-arc gouges areas as necessary in preparation for welding.
  • Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures.
  • Using specified welding process (FCAW, GMAW, and/or SAW,) welds required areas to obtain 100% penetration.
  • Reads and interprets applicable specifications and welding codes and procedures to determine preheat requirements. Uses oxy-fuel heating torch to preheat work specified temperature. Uses instruments provided to measure temperature of the material.
  • Reads and interprets work orders and daily production schedules. Writes entries on daily production log to show work completed.
  • Uses overhead crane to position work in pole-rollers and to move completed poles to designated areas.
  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses tables to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
  • Visually inspects his/her work to assure that welds have been completed satisfactorily in accordance with applicable drawings, specifications, and codes.
  • Assists and instructs other welders when needed to overcome deficiencies in quality and/or productivity.
  • Wears protective equipment including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, leather sleeves, and/or cape, face shield, and welding hood to protect himself from hot metal, arc rays, grinding debris, and other potentially harmful conditions.
  • Inspects end of poles for straightness and squareness of edge cuts. Trims and/or grinds as necessary, in order to leave ends suitable for shipment to customer, or for fit up base plates.
  • Uses power drills to drill and/or ream holes in pole sections as required by drawings.
  • Welds other products in his or her area using either FCAW or GMAW process.
  • Assembles two piece developments.
  • Determines amperage and voltage settings, feed rate settings, required weld procedures, weld size and amount of penetration required.
  • Grinds and/or cleans seams to ensure the required penetration and necessary UT quality weld.
  • Performs daily, weekly, monthly operator preventive maintenance on seam weld machine.
  • Adjust amperage, voltage, speed rates, and machine pressures constantly throughout the welding process to compensate for variations from the cutting and bending operations and the material variations.

  • Uses the Flux Core Arc Welding process to tack weld various small components to round or formed shafts to make a pole assembly for the welder to weld. The pole assembly generally consists of a round tube or formed shaft, baseplate, hand hole, arm mounting simplex, tenon top, vangs, step lugs, ladder clips, and/or other small parts.
  • Works on individual fitter station to assemble pole assembly. Assists material handlers in loading round tube or formed shaft on individual fitter station.
  • Reads and interprets drawings to determine parts needed to assemble pole assembly. Locates and gathers Storeroom Personnel staged parts needed for assembly from parts staging area. Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Reads and interprets drawings to assure proper location of various small part attachments. Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications.
  • Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
  • Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel. Uses jigs for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts.
  • Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing.
  • Operates oxy-fuel torch to preheat parts prior to welding. Reads codes and specifications to determine proper temperature and uses instruments provided to measure temperature.
